My 2025 White Sox player review — @soxnerd style — continues with a look at ANDREW BENINTENDI:
*”Benny’s” .385 average out of the fifth spot was tops in the Majors in 2025 (minimum 45 at bats).
In addition, the output was the highest ever by a White Sox lefty hitting fifth. Joe Crede’s .429 average in 2006 is the leader here followed by Luke Appling twice (.416 in 1935 and .393 in 1936).
*Benintendi hit 11 homers against teams .500 or better in 2025. The last Sox lefty with more homers vs. .500+ clubs was Adam Dunn, who hit 15 in 2014.
