Breaking: Latest Coach Firing Could Signal NFL Blockbuster Trade

October 14, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

The Tennessee Titans are officially in rebuild mode after firing head coach Brian Callahan, and this could signal a trade involving cornerback L’Jarius Sneed. According to the breaking news, the Titans are moving on from their now former head coach after their 1-5 start, and Callahan finishes his disastrous two seasons at 4-19. Tennessee isn’t a contender this season, and they’ll likely be releasing or trading talent soon before the trade deadline, and one of them could include Sneed. Originally selected in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the former Louisiana Tech product hasn’t been the same reliable cornerback he once was.

To no fault of his own, the Titans don’t have the most sustainable unit to be successful. Sneed is a better cornerback than most in the league if he gets the correct looks down the field, and the proof comes during his first NFL stint with the Kansas City Chiefs. The former two-time Super Bowl champion finished his 2023 campaign and last one with the Chiefs, recording 60 solo tackles, career-high of 14 pass deflections, two interceptions and one forced fumble in 16 games. Sneed hasn’t been able to record those types of numbers in Tennessee, so the team should trade him to fetch some draft capital in return.

Quarterback Cam Ward needs some playmakers on offense or early draft picks, and these trade suitors could fit for Sneed.

Possible Next Teams

Kansas City Chiefs

Nobody should put it past the Chiefs if they want to reunite with Sneed. Despite coming back to life after their win against the Lions, the team must position themselves in the best situation to win in the postseason if they make it (which is more than likely). Cornerback Trent McDuffie has been able to establish himself as a reliable contributor for this secondary, but Sneed joining the squad again would put the Chiefs on top. After losing Deon Bush and Eric Scott Jr., they could use Sneed’s presence to keep Jaylen Watson, Chamarri Conner and Kristian Fulton intact.

While the Chiefs could use another wide receiver, the team must find ways to bolster one unit to outplay the other. Don’t be surprised if Sneed winds up requesting a trade, and the Chiefs are one of the teams on his radar, so this is something to watch.

Dallas Cowboys

After their upsetting loss against the Carolina Panthers, the Dallas Cowboys have too many issues on defense. However, the secondary is more than likely the cause, as defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus continues to play zone defense. Despite that, it shouldn’t excuse the athletes like Trevon Diggs and Kaiir Elam from not playing their best. They left too many receivers wide open, and that was very evident in their loss against Carolina.

Sneed won’t single-handedly save this secondary unit depending on how Eberflus would use him, but it should give the Cowboys more bolstering of another ballhawker, who could bring in some momentum, turning plays.

Philadelphia Eagles

Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Eagles are in the market. The team was once 4-0 before losing two straight losses, and while they could shift the blame to the passing offense, they can’t forget about their secondary unit. Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell are the starters for the room, but they must find one more capable player since they lost Jakorian Bennett to a season-ending injury. It’s been Kelee Ringo and Adoree’ Jackson sharing the snaps, but Sneed would be a major upgrade.
