All nine Cubs starting players are on this year’s MLB All-Star ballot

The ballot was released Wednesday afternoon.

Major League Baseball released the 2025 All-Star ballot Wednesday for the game that will be played Tuesday, July 15 at Truist Park in Atlanta.

All nine Cubs regular offensive starters are on this year’s ballot: Carson Kelly, Michael Busch, Nico Hoerner, Dansby Swanson, Matt Shaw, Ian Happ, Pete Crow-Armstrong, Kyle Tucker and Seiya Suzuki.

Here’s how the voting will work this year.

Beginning today, you can cast your vote exclusively online and via mobile devices at MLB.com/vote, all 30 team web sites, the MLB App and the MLB Ballpark App until the voting period for Phase 1 concludes at 11 a.m. CT on Thursday, June 26. During the initial voting period, you can submit up to five ballots each day on MLB platforms. Each day, after submitting a fifth vote on the ballot, you will be given the option to be redirected to the mobile game PRO SPIRIT for an exclusive opportunity to vote for a sixth time. In PRO SPIRIT, you can follow the prompts to cast a sixth vote.

On Thursday, June 26, the top two vote-getters at each position (and the top six outfielders) in each league will be revealed on MLB Network at 5:00 p.m. CT. These players will advance to the second phase of voting to determine who starts for each league. Once again, the leading vote-getter in each league during the first phase of voting will receive an automatic starting assignment at the All-Star Game and bypass the second phase of voting. If an outfielder is a league’s leading vote-getter, Phase 2 voting at the position will still take place to determine the remaining two starters among the next four outfield finalists.

Phase 2 will begin at 11 a.m. CT Monday, June 30, with voting among the finalists at each position during a three-day window that concludes at 11 a.m. CT Wednesday, July 2. Later that evening, the winners will be announced on ESPN at 6:00 p.m. CT during the MLB All-Star Starters Reveal Show. During this second phase of voting, in which fans can vote once per day on MLB platforms, vote totals will reset and the winner at each position (including three outfielders per league) will be named the starting position players for the 2025 Midsummer Classic.

So, how many Cubs realistically have a chance to be voted All-Star starters? PCA should be one, for sure. Could Nico Hoerner have a chance? Kyle Tucker? I’d say Seiya Suzuki, but Shohei Ohtani probably has the DH vote locked down. Suzuki likely gets named to the team, though.

Here are all the players on this year’s AL and NL ballots.
